Christmas 2008

The theme for Dallin's Christmas this year was Star Wars! He got a Clone Trooper mask, Star Wars puzzle, a couple of Lego's Star Wars ships, and of course the Wii Clone Trooper video game. Besides all the Star Wars stuff he also got a surf outfit (to combat board rash), checkers (his new favorite game), an Indiana Jones DS game, and some gift cards and money. By far his favorite gift is the one that Santa brought; the Wii and the games that go along with it. He has had to try to pry the controller's out of Dad's hands to get a turn. He has proven to be a great tennis player, and loves Kung Fu Panda, and Mario Cart.

Last Christmas when Dallin found out about Santa he told me, "But, I can still believe in him if I want to." This year he told me he was a little sad that Santa wasn't real. I told him that the spirit of Santa is real, and that he represents the spirit of giving. I hope Dallin can always keep the spirit of Christmas alive.

Dallin and the Chocolate Factory

Dallin is on a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory kick right now; his favorite character being Augustus Gloop because of all the chocolate he eats. While in Maui last week-end we were wandering around on a rainy Saturday looking for something to do indoors. We passed this sugar factory that had a museum, so we decided to check it out. Dallin thought maybe it was Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, and was so excited to go inside. While in the museum, he kept asking when we got to go into the factory. I finally had to tell him that the museum was as close as he was going to get, because the workers were working and they didn't allow people in the factory. He still kept bugging me about it, so finally I told him they wouldn't let him in because he didn't have a Golden Ticket.

Happy Halloween

Dallin was Link from Legends of Zelda this year for Halloween. Everyone would mistake him for Peter Pan, Robin Hood, or an Elf but he was always quick to correct them and give them a lesson on the video game Legends of Zelda. He quickly tired of trunk-or-treating, and retired to the car to gorge on candy. He's no dummy; he ate as much as he could before dad took it away.

A Big Hug To Dallin

At the kids' school they have a program called "gottcha" which recognizes students who were caught being extra good. I think I need to implement this program in our home. The other day I caught Dallin sneaking into Corynn's room (which she was ground to, for getting into some neighborhood mischief). When I told him he needed to leave her alone because she was being punished, he showed me that he had some food in his hands. He was worried she would get hungry, and was sneaking in some food for her. His thoughtfulness touched me so much! So here's to Dallin for being such a good brother, and a thoughful person. "Gottcha."

Heeeeere's Dallin

Dallin is excited to share some thoughts and pictures with friends and family. He is a great son/brother, and we love having him in our family.
